Part 8: Building a Kids 20inch Full Suspension MTB
So after a few rides I noticed there was a lot of play in the front fork. I took everything apart again and checked the condition of the Top/Bottom Cup and bearings.
The bearings where pretty cheap and not in a good condition. OK time to replace them, I went a bit mad and bought a set of Hope Pick n Mix Headsets – Top Cup in gold to match the colour scheme:
The fitted beautifully and now no play at all, also looked uber cool:
For the bottom cup as it was not seen, I went for cheaper Ritchey WCS Headset Lowers Press Fit but these are still quality items.
